The Weeknd will play alongside Adam Sandler in the upcoming crime thriller ‘Uncut Gems'

The Weeknd is expected to debut his cinema career later this year in the new 'Uncut Gems' movie alongside Adam Sandler. Indeed, the crime thriller taking place in the diamond district of New York, should be unveiled on Christmas Day (December 25), according to IMDb.

As stated by TIFF, this new film project is like an “electrifying thriller about Howard Ratner - played by Adam Sandler - a charismatic jeweler from New York, always on the lookout for the next big score. must perform a delicate gesture, balancing work, family and encroaching on his opponents from all sides, in his relentless pursuit of final victory.”

Moreover, the film has a tremendous cast outside Sandler and The Weeknd that includes former NBA superstar Kevin Garnett, Julia Fox, Idina Menzel, Stanfield LaKeith, Noa Fisher, and more. In addition, brothers Benny and Josh Safdie are both co-directors of Uncut Gems, which will eventually be broadcast on Netflix.
