Hiii Siddity Is Building Her Own Lane Without Leaving Brooklyn Behind
Brooklyn has never been short on rappers with personality, but Hiii Siddity carries the kind of presence that feels particularly native to the borough: outspoken, animated, confident and unwilling to dilute itself for easier consumption. After first attracting wider attention as one half of Girll Codee alongside ShaaBiggaa, Siddity is increasingly giving listeners a clearer look at what her identity can become outside the parameters of a duo. Her latest solo release, “You’re Welcome,” dropped on June 5, 2026, continuing a catalogue that is gradually putting Hiii Siddity’s individual name into sharper focus.
That individuality has always existed inside Girll Codee. Hiii Siddity and ShaaBiggaa originally met while attending Brooklyn School for Music and Theater, eventually turning their friendship and shared creative instincts into music. Girll Codee officially began taking shape following a freestyle over Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” with their early chemistry helping the pair establish themselves within New York’s rap ecosystem.
For Siddity specifically, music runs deeper than simply deciding to become a rapper. She grew up in a musical household, with a father who worked as a DJ in New York City nightclubs. That environment exposed her to music early and encouraged an interest not only in rap, but also in singing, songwriting and R&B melodies. Raised around Brownsville and Crown Heights, Siddity has also cited The Notorious B.I.G. and Ol’ Dirty Bastard among the artists who influenced her, which helps explain the unmistakably New York backbone surrounding much of her artistic personality.

Girll Codee has spoken openly about self-love, individuality and resisting the pressures that encourage women to compete unnecessarily with one another. Siddity has previously emphasized the importance of creating music that carries messages listeners can return to, particularly in an era where social media can distort confidence and identity. Before “You’re Welcome,” Siddity appeared alongside Anjoli on the R&B/Soul single “Not Me,” released November 28, 2025. Her catalogue also includes an appearance on “L.O.V.E” with A.G., alongside numerous recordings connected to her wider creative circle. “You’re Welcome,” however, places her name alone at the centre of the release, with both an explicit version and radio edit currently available. It is an important distinction. Artists who become recognizable as part of a group often face the difficult task of establishing a solo identity without making that transition feel like a rejection of everything audiences originally appreciated. For Hiii Siddity, the more interesting possibility is expansion rather than separation. Girll Codee demonstrated that she could command attention through chemistry; her individual material creates room to discover what happens when the entire frame belongs to her.

She has the Brooklyn pedigree, performance experience and years of development behind her. She has appeared on major New York stages, released music through an established label infrastructure and built an artistic persona recognizable enough to stand apart even while functioning inside a duo. More importantly, Hiii Siddity possesses something that cannot be manufactured through marketing budgets: character. There is still considerable space for her solo story to unfold, and that might be exactly what makes the current chapter interesting. Rather than arriving as an entirely unfamiliar newcomer, Hiii Siddity enters this phase with history behind her and something left to prove ahead of her.
