Toronto-bred, UK-based artist Melissa Bel offers a beautiful lullaby, through the stripped version of her previous single ‘If She Hadn’t Lied’. Even though, the prime version was already good, this new orchestration exudes more emotion. The listener’ll feel a bit more connected to the artist, not only because there’s no distracting instrumentation, but also because the vocal performance sounds more honest and vulnerable. That’s actually why, in general, most people enjoy acoustic versions compared to commercial music. Also note that Melissa takes a lot of pride in this single, given that, she wrote and record it herself. She explains:
“This song means a lot to me because it’s a true story about past heartbreak that lead to meeting the love of my life. I’ve spent the last couple of years songwriting with other artists in mind, but when I wrote this song I knew I had to record it myself.”
