Discoveries Of The Month.

This month started with loads of discoveries despite the chaos going on, worldwide. We came across tremendous artists from all around the world. And each of those artists brought a very peculiar, yet pleasant sound signature.

 

VIAA — Animal Style

With a soulful vocal tone to match her sensual charisma and her vibrant personality, VIAA is an artist full of wonder. She’s bold, creative and truly knows how to express her emotions through music. And you can hear it in her latest single « Animal Style ». The track is really captivating, not only because it oozes a lot of vulnerability but also thanks to the catchy melodies incorporated. Moreover, VIAA’s voice is truly delicious and is also adapted to the production. 

About, the song, VIAA shared: 

The inspiration for “Animal Style” originally came from feeling that I was living a passive life. Shortly after recording a demo, I found out a dear friend of mine had taken his own life. I fell into a deep depression and finishing this song became a way for me to actively process my emotions about it. “Animal Style” then became a tribute to him.
 

Cal Maro — Juliet

Brooklyn Music creator Cal Maro takes us on musical Tale with his latest single « Juliet », inspired by the Baz Luhrman's Romeo and Juliet Saga. The track is a very conceptual soulful composition filled with quirky lyrics enhanced by haunting melodies. The vibes is truly enjoyable and kind of gives you the motivation to find your Juliet. Starworlf — Real Love

For their 5th release, Starwolf offers a funky single vibe entited “Real Love”, with a vocal perspective inspired by the Daft Punk. However, they kept their Indie Pop musical structure similar to Kavinsky, but with a more retro texture. The composition is a blend of rock melodies on an electronic rhythm, enhanced with a solo on the captivating saxophone. This catchy musical cocktail can be streamed everywhere but especially in the car.

 

Stevie Wolf — Confetti

The new single “Confetti”, from his latest EP “Chapped Lips”, expresses another side of Stevie Wolf. Indeed, we know his talent for charming with his songwriting style, that combines vulnerability with a pinch nuanced tones that fill his music with versatility.

In the new single, Stevie’s performance gets more and more personal and idiosyncratic while showcasing haunting melodies. Moreover, the production gets built subtly, from a minimal structure to a garnished orchestration.

HRTLSS — Sundown

UK artist HRTLSS does an impeccable job of combining hip hop, R&B, rock and trap beats with sensual lyrics to produce an artistic infusion of music to our ears. His inspiration from artists like The Weeknd, Drake, and BringMeTheHorizon, truly show in his music. Young and talented, HRTLSS began creating songs during his first year of high school when him and a few friends started a Screamo band, gaining attention from MTV. After five years of touring and a ten year break from music, HRTLSS returns with new creations that leave us wanting more.

 

Josh Fudge — 7 in the morning

17 year-old instrumentalist and songwriter, Josh Fudge, impresses us with his tranquil new single “7 In The Morning”. We could describe his style as mix between John Meyer and Jack Johnson. His calming vocals and soothing guitar solos make us want to just sit back, relax and enjoy the moment.

 

Hattie Oates — High

Australian artist Hattie Oates just released her new track May 28, 2020, and her passion for her music truly blasts through the speakers in this song “High”! Gifted at a young age of 10, it all began with teaching herself out to play the guitar from watching her older brother (the musical talent must run in the family!). The fierce, varying frequencies in her vocals echo deep powerful lyrics to leave you stunned. You can’t help but to fall in love and to find yourself intertwined with her melodies.

 

The Sea The Sea — Parachute

If you are a fan of indie folk music, then you’ll definitely enjoy the single « Parachute » offered by New-York based music duo The Sea The Sea, made of Chuck and Mira Costa. Both artist really found each other, because they sound fantastic together. Indeed, Parachute is a gentle appealing ensemble featuring tranquil breezes of guitar melodies blended with Mira's soothing lead vocals, which get boosted by subtle vocal harmonies offered by Chuck.
