Welcome Johnnie Lee to the stage, a 27 year old independent artist that originates from Austin, Texas. At an early age, Johnnie began singing in his church choir and taking guitar lessons and has since developed a captivating style of playing, composing, and arranging. He is officially coming into his own, drawing inspiration from multiple genres such as jazz, R&B, gospel, & pop.

His goal with The Girl From Ipanema was to revisit this classic song, using sounds & a format that might work better for today's listener. The music for this song was originally written by Antonio Carlos Jobim in the 1960s, and Portuguese lyrics were added. Norman Gimbel eventually wrote the English lyrics.
