Yet the song never feels cluttered. Instead, each layer arrives with purpose, making the quieter passages feel more exposed and the climactic moments almost triumphant by comparison. “Wind Up” is undeniably sad, but its most affecting quality is the way relief briefly enters the frame—not as resolution, but as proof that even turbulence can contain a clearing.
