FEILER DEBUTS WITH "GOD KNOWS," FIRST SINGLE FROM UPCOMING EP

Los Angeles-based artist Feiler emerges with debut single "God Knows," a dark electronic singer/songwriter track that marries confessional whisper folk and pulsing, distorted synthesizers. Premiering on Pursuit of Dopeness, God Knows is the first of a looming EP from Feiler.

"God Knows" begins as an intimate, finger-picked indie folk ballad, but darker electronic elements slowly bleed in as the song progresses. By the end, it crescendos into a raging electronic climax of angry synthesizers and gunshot snares. Lyrically, the song "loosely explores the intricacies of communication, alluding to how many of us can’t help but hide from those attempting to break down the barriers our insecurities make us put up," writes Oscar of Pursuit of Dopeness.

The single is available now on all streaming services and online music stores. Find it here:

Feiler grew out of late nights in a cramped college house in Los Angeles, but bloomed only after moving to an aging, vine-covered house in the rural woods of northern Georgia. In a studio cobbled together from duct tape, blankets, and anything else the house could offer, Feiler – the solo project of LA-based singer/songwriter/producer Austin Smith – developed a sound that rides the line between earnest whisper folk and shimmering electronic pop, all with an undercurrent of urgent and emotional songwriting uniting the two spheres. Now, Feiler emerges with a collection of songs that seek to map a path through a chaotic and confusing world.
