About The Song

‘ross n rachel’ is a whimsical breakup song that tells the story of two best friends whose relationship has developed into something romantic, which ultimately causes the protagonist (Isabel) to cut all romantic ties for fear of losing their much more valuable friendship. This message is delivered with bright and bubbly instrumentation that culminates in an irresistible chorus groove, making the track feel like a big celebration that the duo was able to enjoy the best of both worlds and maintain their friendship afterwards.

'ross n rachel' was produced by Tom Eggert (MTNS, Marco, Sloan Peterson) and mastered by Matthew Gray (Melanie Martinez, Bebe Rexha, Cody Simpson).

Artist quotes:

ross n rachel is easily the most fun and light-hearted breakup song I’ve ever written. I wrote it after listening to a lot of Rex Orange County and was experimenting with some new chords to try and create an uplifting and quirky vibe.

Speaking on the lyrical content, Isabel says:

"You know that scenario when two people have been friends forever and they start to dip their toes into the romantic water to see if they could be something more? Well... This song is about the un-dip. And who un-dips better than Ross and Rachel from Friends?
